르누아르 서울 전시는 1985년 파리 그랑 팔레에서 열린 회고전 이후 전시 작품의 질과 양적인 면에서
르누아르 단일 전시사상 최대 규모이다.
20여 점에 달하는 르누아르의 작품은 인상파의 보고로 알려진 오르세 미술관과 오랑주리 미술관,
워싱턴 국립미술관 등 세계 유수의 미술관 소장품들을 한자리에 모아 이루어졌다.
이번 전시를 통해 국내 첫 선을 보이는 작품들은 르누아르 예술의 걸작품으로 일반인들에게 널리 알려진
인상주의 시기의 대표작품 <시골 무도회>(1883), <그네>(1876), <햇살 속의 누드>(1875-1876)를 비롯한
<피아노 치는 소녀들>(1892), <광대복장을 한 코코>(1909) 등 르누아르 작품의 시기별 대작들로,
인상파 미술의 화려한 색채화가 르누아르 예술의 진수를 맛보기에 손색이 없는 전시이다.
